faux freckle Aftercare Instructions

*Note: These care instructions are not to be used in place of professional medical advice. If any signs of infection occur (pus, excessive swelling, fever, etc.) please contact us immediately and consult a doctor. If a healthcare professional is contacted for any of the above reasons, we strongly encourage you to defer exclusively to their professional medical advice.

Day 1

Following the procedure, there will be a production of lymphatic fluid.

This is a clear fluid and a natural part of the healing process.

The treatment area will likely be tender, and the pigment will be bold and dark. This will fade down significantly and the end result will be much closer to your original expectations.

  • Wash your hands. Gently blot the lymphatic fluid away every 30 minutes for 2-3 hours to prevent any excess scabbing. Use a new, unscented baby wipe or a clean, unused cotton pad.
  • After 3 hours, apply a very thin layer of a very lightweight and unscented lotion or facial moisturizer (Cerave or Cetaphil are great easily available options.
  • Before bed: wash your hands. Wash your face with the unscented cleanser in your Aftercare Package. Gently pat dry and apply a thin layer your facial moisturizer.

If you experience discomfort and swelling, apply an ice pack, or dab with a CLEAN washcloth soaked in cold water. Ensure the washcloth is wrung out very well.

Days 2-7

*Do not pick or remove scabs, let them flake off naturally* You can expect quite a bit of swelling on day 2-3. Feel free to take Advil or Motrin as needed, and apply an ice pack whenever necessary.

  • Clean the treatment area with your gentle cleanser each morning and evening.
  • Keep your face  moisturized. Apply a thin layer of your facial moisturizer anytime your skin begin to feel dry or tight.

Continue this process until scabbing and peeling stops.
